I sort of wish I'd started this with a full background and things in mind and posed it differently so I uh... COULD have a really effort-filled finished piece of artwork, but I thought I'd only really have the patience for a smaller uh... thing and coloured this a bit sloppily because I knew it WASN'T going to have a full background... But uh... maybe one day I'll draw something with scaly colours like that in a larger image since I like how the colours ended up looking...
Great job with the claws and the anatomy. I also like how the wings connect to the body. The membrane has plenty of surface area, so they look much better than the tacked-on wings that I see sometimes. The subtle colors are add a lot to the picture, too.
As for things that could be improved, I think that using a darker line around the side of it's left hand would make that area look much clearer. It looks like the left leg seems a bit thinner then the right, to me at least. Also, the scales are technically good, but I think you could use them to really define the shape of the dragon's body. The scales on the left leg are quite effective, though.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
