I comment on things when I have something to say that isn't the usual 'omg fave!!!1' etc, etc. I don't really worry overmuch if I don't get a response, especially if it's from someone who gets lots of comments and doesn't get back to the occasional commenter.

Hmm, well I usually comment to get a response because I stil don't know a great deal of people here. But I also comment to reflect my views on the persons art. Depending on the person they will comment or not.

I admit, sometimes I comment and hope for a response, but a lot of times don't expect one.

I try to comment as much as possible, and sometimes I can't think of something right away, so I'm like, "Okay, I'll comment on this later!" and then forget about it, and then end up with 400 deviations in my message center the next month which will never be commented on... RUN ON SENTENCE!

But yeah, its nice to get a response, but I try not to throw up just a general, "This is very beautifully done, I like it." JUST to get a response. Instead I'll say that about something specific I like about the work, like, "I like how you did the hands/hair/eyes/whatever," leave it at that, and if I get a response I'll have a little 3 nanosecond celebration. Then get on with my life.

i just comment to telll ppL. what I think. Like this is a good poll. It's very testing on why you comment on stuff. Either way, no one said they comment on stuuf just to get a response. I mean, I did that ONCE. My point remains.
